SYNOPSIS

In this coming-of-age narrative, the story unfolds around 12-year-old Elin. Her once-fantasy-filled world crumbles when she experiences her first menstruation.
She discovers that becoming a “woman” not only transforms her reality but also alters her bond with her mother, Maiya (45). Amidst confusion and self-awareness, Elin witnesses her childhood fading away, as her body inevitably changes.

Elin strongly resists the inevitable change, reluctant to embrace adulthood, and finds herself ensnared in a sense of loss within the presented perspective on femininity, fearing a lack of agency over the changes in her body.

The dialogues between Elin and her mother mirror the growing tension and unspoken conflicts in their relationship as they grapple with the changing reality of growing up. The film tells a story of self-discovery, highlighting the fragile transition from childhood to adolescence, where enchanting innocence gives way to the sometimes painful reality of growing up.
